Casablanca, August 18, 2026 — The Europe Today: Morocco’s women’s national football team is set to receive a financial boost of $1.56 million following its qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, according to Moroccan media reports cited by Morocco World News.
The Atlas Lionesses secured their place in the global tournament after finishing fourth at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Morocco. The qualification marks another significant achievement for the Moroccan women’s national team on the international stage.
According to Al Mountakhab, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is expected to receive $1.56 million, equivalent to approximately MAD 14.46 million, as the FIFA prize allocated to teams qualifying for the World Cup.
The financial allocation is expected to increase as teams progress through the tournament. A place in the round of 16 would reportedly raise the allocation to $1.87 million, or around MAD 17.33 million, while reaching the quarterfinals would increase the amount to approximately $2.18 million, equivalent to MAD 20.21 million.
Morocco’s qualification further highlights the continued growth of women’s football in the country and the increasing international profile of the Atlas Lionesses.
The 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification also provides Morocco with an opportunity to build on the team’s recent progress and further strengthen its position in African and international women’s football.
