Islamabad Bar Council conducts the Mediation Advocacy Training

Islamabad, January 4, 2025 – The Europe Today: On January 3, 2025, Under the dynamic guidance of Honorable Adil Aziz Qazi, the Islamabad Bar Council has taken commendable steps to introduce innovative initiatives and training programs for the younger generation of legal professionals.

He highlighted the potential of mediation as a tool for resolving disputes, fostering cooperation, and strengthening economic ties in the region.

The Mediation Advocacy Training Programme stands as a testament to their commitment to empowering Pakistan’s legal fraternity with tools to address contemporary challenges effectively.

The event was part of the “Mediation Advocacy Training Programme,” an initiative aimed at equipping Pakistan’s legal fraternity with advanced knowledge of mediation and its importance in today’s interconnected world.

The event was expertly organized and moderated by Barrister Zopash Khan, Co-founder of the Pakistan Chapter of the International Dispute Resolution Institute.

Barrister Saad Ahmad, an Accredited Mediator, delivered an in-depth presentation on the concept and essential procedures of mediation and the role of mediators. Meanwhile, Malik Qatadah Jamal Khan, a senior Accredited Mediator, elaborated on the essence and conduct of mediation, providing practical insights to the attendees.

Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, a renowned expert in regional connectivity and international relations, addressed an audience of around 100 enthusiastic lawyers at the Islamabad Bar Council.

Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram delivered a compelling speech on the critical role of corporate mediation within the framework of regional connectivity, particularly focusing on land-linked countries and China through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

During his address, Mr. Akram acknowledged Pakistan’s emerging generation of legal professionals for their growing awareness of international relations and their adaptability to regional legal frameworks. He also expressed profound appreciation for the Vice Chairman of Islamabad Bar Council, the Honorable Adil Aziz Qazi, for his visionary leadership and support of this vital initiative.

The event concluded with participants expressing their gratitude for the valuable knowledge shared and reaffirming their dedication to advancing mediation advocacy in Pakistan’s legal and business sectors.
