Turkmenistan and Pakistan Discuss Plans for Business Cooperation and Exhibition in Ashgabat

Islamabad, January 24, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Atajan Movlamov, held a meeting on Wednesday in Islamabad with a delegation from the Gujranwala Business Center, led by its chairman, Ahmad Ikram Lone. The discussion focused on the potential organization of an exhibition of Pakistani goods in Ashgabat, aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan, the proposed exhibition would serve as a significant platform for fostering interactions among producers, buyers, and foreign partners, while showcasing Pakistani products and facilitating the exchange of business ideas.

During the meeting, Pakistani entrepreneurs expressed keen interest in establishing stronger connections with Turkmenistan’s business community to enhance mutual trade volumes. In response, the Turkmen delegation highlighted the country’s economic priorities, which include diversifying the economy, adopting modern technologies and market mechanisms, supporting private sector growth, and implementing programs to boost the export of Turkmen national products.

Both sides underscored their shared commitment to developing robust business ties, agreeing to maintain regular dialogue and hold follow-up meetings to advance economic cooperation.

Gujranwala, recognized as one of Pakistan’s leading industrial hubs, was noted for its rapid development and potential for collaboration. Participants emphasized the importance of creating closer connections between Gujranwala-based industries and Turkmen businesses, opening doors for significant opportunities in trade and investment.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the mutual interest in expanding economic partnerships and exploring new avenues of bilateral cooperation.
