Paris, March 13, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of his official state visit to France, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. The meeting celebrated the growing bilateral relations between the two countries, especially following Uzbekistan and France’s elevation of their ties to a strategic partnership.
President Mirziyoyev began the meeting by offering his heartfelt congratulations to Mayor Hidalgo on the successful hosting of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. He also expressed his gratitude to the Mayor and the city of Paris for the honor of naming one of its streets after Samarkand, a gesture that signifies the deep cultural ties between the two nations.
In response, Mayor Hidalgo thanked President Mirziyoyev for Uzbekistan’s unwavering support in ensuring public security during the Olympic Games, recognizing the importance of international cooperation in hosting such a significant global event.
