Azerbaijan, UK Discuss Enhanced Energy Cooperation and Green Initiatives

Baku, April 10, 2025 — The Europe Today: Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Parviz Shahbazov, held a meeting with Fergus Auld, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan, to discuss strengthening bilateral energy relations and advancing collaborative initiatives.

According to News Hub Consultants, the meeting centered on enhancing cooperation in the energy sector, with particular emphasis on the development of green energy projects, interconnector initiatives, and the hydrogen strategy. Both sides highlighted the importance of continuing joint efforts in promoting sustainable energy solutions and addressing global energy challenges.

Preparations for the upcoming session of the Intergovernmental Commission were also discussed, with a view to reinforcing institutional dialogue and expanding practical cooperation in strategic areas.

During the meeting, Minister Shahbazov and Ambassador Auld exchanged views on a broad range of topics related to bilateral energy collaboration. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to fostering innovation and promoting clean energy technologies, while also addressing key issues of mutual interest.

The meeting underscored the enduring partnership between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom and reaffirmed their mutual interest in deepening cooperation across the evolving landscape of global energy transition.
