Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Pays Tribute at Victory Monument in Minsk

Minsk, April 11, 2025 — The Europe Today: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday laid a wreath at the Victory Monument in Minsk to pay solemn tribute to the people of Belarus who lost their lives during World War II.

Upon arrival at Victory Square, the Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation were received with full ceremonial honors. A smartly turned-out contingent of the Belarusian armed forces presented a salute, and the national anthems of Pakistan and Belarus were played to mark the occasion.

Prime Minister Shehbaz was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.

Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin was also present at the ceremony. Earlier, he had warmly welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the airport upon his arrival in the Belarusian capital.

The tribute at the Victory Monument underscored the deep respect and solidarity between Pakistan and Belarus, and highlighted their shared commitment to honoring historical sacrifices for peace and freedom.
