Azerbaijan Economic Council Reviews 2027–2030 Budget Framework

Baku, April 15, 2026 – The Europe Today: Prime Minister Ali Asadov on April 14 chaired a meeting of Azerbaijan’s Economic Council to deliberate on key fiscal strategies and medium-term economic planning.

The meeting focused extensively on the 2027–2030 Medium-Term Budget Framework (MTBF), including the principal directions and targets of budget policy, priority expenditure areas, and preliminary macroeconomic forecasts. Participants also reviewed the macro-fiscal framework, budget sustainability, and projected indicators for both the state and consolidated budgets for 2027 and the subsequent three years, alongside discussions on social policy and other current economic matters.

Detailed reports were presented by Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev, and Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov. Members of the Economic Council and invited participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on the presented agenda items.

At the conclusion of the session, the Council adopted relevant decisions incorporating the views and recommendations of its members. The Ministry of Finance and other relevant institutions were tasked with advancing preparations for the next year’s state budget package, as well as finalizing the Medium-Term Budget Framework document.

The meeting underscored Azerbaijan’s continued commitment to prudent fiscal management, sustainable budgeting, and long-term economic stability.
