Azerbaijan, Russia Sign e-CMR Roadmap to Boost Trade and Economic Cooperation

Zangilan, April 17, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan and Russia have signed a key document outlining a “Roadmap” for facilitating the application of the electronic international consignment note (e-CMR) in road transport, marking a significant step toward enhancing bilateral trade and logistics cooperation.

The agreement was signed during the 24th meeting of the Russia-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental State Commission on Economic Cooperation, held in Zangilan.

The document was inked by Shahin Mustafayev and Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan and Russia, respectively.

The roadmap aims to streamline cross-border road transport through the adoption of digital consignment systems, while also facilitating the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. It further envisions increased mutual investments and the implementation of joint projects across various sectors.

The signing ceremony concluded with the adoption of a protocol summarizing the outcomes of the 24th session of the intergovernmental commission, reaffirming both sides’ commitment to strengthening bilateral economic partnership and regional connectivity.
