Baku, April 25, 2026 – The Europe Today: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Azerbaijan for its continued support during the ongoing challenges faced by his country, particularly in the energy sector and humanitarian assistance.
Speaking during a joint press statement with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President Zelenskyy revealed that Ukraine has received 11 aid packages from Azerbaijan aimed at supporting its energy needs amid difficult circumstances.
“Regarding supplies in the energy sector, we have received 11 aid packages during such a very difficult period. We express our gratitude to Azerbaijan for this assistance,” Zelenskyy stated, underscoring the importance of international cooperation during times of crisis.
The Ukrainian President also highlighted Azerbaijan’s humanitarian efforts, particularly its support for children affected by the conflict. He noted that more than 500 Ukrainian children from frontline regions have been hosted and assisted by Azerbaijan.
“You are helping our children. Our sons and daughters come from frontline regions. They have faced hardships and suffered from the war. More than five hundred Ukrainian children are here, and we are grateful to you for this support,” Zelenskyy added.
The remarks reflect the strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, as well as Baku’s role in providing both material and humanitarian assistance during a period of ongoing conflict.
