Azerbaijan Resettles 68 Families in Khojavend as Return Program Gains Momentum

Khojavend, April 28, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan has continued its resettlement efforts in the liberated territories, with a total of 68 families comprising 299 individuals relocated to the Khojavend district and provided with keys to newly built homes.

The key handover ceremony was attended by officials from the Special Representative Office of the President of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, along with representatives of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons and other relevant authorities.

According to official figures, 39 families, totaling 176 individuals, were resettled in the city of Khojavend. Additionally, 16 families comprising 63 individuals were relocated to the Girmizi Bazar settlement, while 13 families, including 60 individuals, were moved to Khanoba village within the district.

The resettlement initiative forms part of Azerbaijan’s broader program to facilitate the return of internally displaced persons to their native regions, following reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts aimed at restoring infrastructure and ensuring sustainable living conditions in the area.
