Baku, May 4, 2026 – The Europe Today: The first direct flight on the Belgrade–Baku–Belgrade route was officially received at Heydar Aliyev International Airport on May 3, marking a significant milestone in strengthening air connectivity between Azerbaijan and Serbia.
The newly launched service will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and is expected to enhance tourism flows and expand commercial exchanges between the two countries.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Azerbaijani government officials, members of a Serbian delegation, and senior executives from Air Serbia.
Officials noted that the introduction of the new route represents a key step in diversifying the international flight network of Heydar Aliyev International Airport, further reinforcing Baku as a leading regional hub for aviation and tourism.
The direct connection is also anticipated to facilitate closer economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between Azerbaijan and Serbia, contributing to broader bilateral relations.
