Baku, May 9, 2026 – The Europe Today: Marking the 81st anniversary of the historic Victory over fascism, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the grave of Major General of Tank Troops Hazi Aslanov in Baku.
During the visit, the head of state and the First Lady laid flowers at the monument of Hazi Aslanov, who was twice awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for his bravery and distinguished service during World War II.
President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also paid tribute to all Azerbaijanis who lost their lives during the war, honoring their sacrifice and contribution to the victory over fascism.
