Baku, May 28, 2026 – The Europe Today: Ilham Aliyev shared a post on his official social media accounts on the occasion of May 28 — Independence Day of Azerbaijan.
The message was published as the nation marked the anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first democratic republic in the Muslim East, founded on May 28, 1918.
Independence Day is celebrated annually across Azerbaijan to honor the country’s sovereignty, statehood traditions and national independence.
