Azerbaijan Opens Tourism Representative Office in Beijing

Azerbaijan

Beijing, May 30, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) has officially inaugurated a representative office in Beijing as part of efforts to further promote Azerbaijan’s tourism potential and increase the number of visitors from China.

The new office is expected to serve as a key platform for strengthening tourism cooperation, expanding promotional activities, and enhancing Azerbaijan’s visibility in one of the world’s fastest-growing outbound travel markets.

The opening ceremony was attended by Fuad Naghiyev, Teymur Nadiroglu, and Florian Sengstschmid.

As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also participated in the international tourism exhibition ITB China 2026, held from May 26 to 28 in Shanghai. Azerbaijan showcased its tourism offerings through a national pavilion featuring several industry partners, including national carrier AZAL as co-exhibitor.

Officials noted that China has emerged as one of the fastest-growing tourism source markets for Azerbaijan and remains a key priority for inbound tourism development. Between January and April 2026, the number of visitors from China rose by nearly 9.5 percent compared to the same period in 2025, reaching 14,303 arrivals, reflecting sustained growth and rising interest in Azerbaijan as a travel destination.

The establishment of the Beijing office is expected to further strengthen tourism ties between the two countries and support ongoing efforts to diversify Azerbaijan’s international tourism markets.
