Baku, June 6, 2026 – The Europe Today: President Ilham Aliyev has extended congratulations to the Azerbaijan national minifootball team following its triumph at the European Minifootball Championship, marking another milestone in the country’s sporting achievements.
According to a post shared on the official social media accounts of the head of state, the president praised the team for reclaiming the European title and highlighted the significance of their continued success on the international stage.
“The Azerbaijan national minifootball team, which won the European title in 2022 and became world champion in 2025, has written another glorious chapter in our country’s sporting history by reclaiming the European crown. Achieving such a victory in a team sport makes this success all the more significant,” the statement read.
President Aliyev expressed pride in the team’s accomplishment and conveyed best wishes for their future performances.
“I sincerely congratulate our team on this remarkable achievement and wish our national squad continued success,” the post added.
