Ashgabat, September 24, 2026 — The Europe Today: A formal ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan to confer state awards on members of the country’s diplomatic service in recognition of their contributions on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, addressing the ceremony, underscored the special significance of events being held across the country to commemorate the 35th anniversary of state Independence.
Meredov also highlighted the significance of the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council) of Turkmenistan, held in Ashgabat on September 23 under the leadership of National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The meeting considered a broad range of issues related to the country’s continued socio-economic development and advancement in innovation and technology, with a number of important decisions adopted during the session.
The Foreign Minister emphasized the responsible role of Turkmenistan’s diplomatic service in implementing the country’s foreign policy priorities and advancing its international relations.
During the ceremony, the Presidential Decree on the conferral of state awards in honor of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence was read out.
In a solemn atmosphere, members of the national diplomatic service were presented with the state medal “For Love to the Homeland” in recognition of their service.
The recipients expressed gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the high appreciation of their professional contributions and pledged to continue carrying out their responsibilities with dedication in the interests of the further development of an independent and permanently neutral Turkmenistan.
