Ashgabat, September 28, 2026 — The Europe Today: Leaders from several countries have sent congratulatory messages to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence, Turkmen state media reported.
Congratulatory messages were sent by Chinese President Xi Jinping, U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung.
In their messages, the leaders highlighted Turkmenistan’s achievements in socioeconomic development and its growing role in the international arena. They also expressed their readiness to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan.
The foreign leaders conveyed their wishes for President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s good health and success in his state activities, while extending wishes for peace, prosperity and continued well-being to the people of Turkmenistan.
A number of ceremonial events marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence were held in Ashgabat on September 27, including a military parade and festive concerts dedicated to the national anniversary.
