Turkmenistan Participates in C5+1 Conference on Digital Innovation in Astana

Ashgabat, October 1, 2026 – The Europe Today: A Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Minister of Communications Ya. Gulmammedov participated in a conference on digital innovation held in Astana on September 29 within the framework of the C5+1 multilateral cooperation format between the Central Asian countries and the United States.

During the opening session, the Turkmen delegation briefed participants on the country’s efforts to develop its digital economy and introduce modern digital technologies. It also highlighted ongoing initiatives, achievements and prospective areas for further development in the sector.

The conference brought together representatives of relevant government agencies from Central Asian countries and the United States, as well as partner organizations including the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), CRDF Global, CIPE and CLDP.

Representatives of the private sector and international expert community, including Meta, Oracle, Honeywell Technologies, Wabtec, McKinsey, EPAM, Plug and Play and Alchemist Accelerator, presented their experience and technological solutions.

Participants discussed digital innovation and its role in economic development, the security and reliability of advanced technologies, and key priorities for digitalization and artificial intelligence.

The conference also focused on prospects for expanding cooperation and strengthening partnerships in digital technologies and artificial intelligence among the participating countries and organizations.
