Bandar Seri Begawan, September 08, 2024, The Europe Today: The Faculty of Usuluddin (FoU) at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) recently had the honor of hosting a distinguished delegation from the State Institute of Islamic Religion (IAIN) Kudus, Indonesia. This visit was centered around discussions on a forthcoming memorandum of agreement (MoA) between the two esteemed institutions.
The meeting, which took place at UNISSA, served as a platform to explore opportunities for collaboration, including potential joint research projects. Dr. Mariam binti Abdul Rahman, a lecturer from UNISSA’s Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language, participated in these discussions, highlighting the potential for cooperative academic endeavors.
The delegation from IAIN Kudus was led by Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Fakhrudin bin Abdul Mukti, Dean of the Faculty of Usuluddin. The visit also included notable members from UNISSA, such as Dr. Haji Ahmad Baha bin Haji Mokhtar, Deputy Dean of the FoU; Dr. Elsayed Abdalla Amin, Head of the FoU’s Graduate Programme; Dr. Hajah Masuriyati binti Haji Yahya, Head of the FoU’s Undergraduate Programme; and Dr. Hafini bin Haji Mahmud from the Public and International Relations Centre at UNISSA.
This visit underscores UNISSA’s commitment to fostering strong international partnerships and advancing Islamic education. The collaboration with IAIN Kudus represents a significant step towards enhancing academic and research ties between the two institutions, thereby contributing to the development of Islamic education in the Sultanate.
