7th BRICS Media Summit Opens in Moscow, Addressing Media’s Role in a Multipolar World

Moscow, September 15, 2024 – The Europe Today: The 7th BRICS Media Summit has commenced in Moscow, uniting representatives from 60 media organizations across 45 countries to discuss the evolving role of media in a multipolar world. Organized by Russia’s TASS news agency, the summit brings together professionals from both BRICS and non-BRICS nations to explore crucial issues including information security and the technological advancements shaping global news exchange.

The summit’s plenary session, moderated by Mikhail Gusman, First Deputy Director General of TASS, featured notable speakers such as Andrey Kondrashov, Director General of TASS; Fu Hua, President of China’s Xinhua News Agency; and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. Their discussions centered on how the media can adapt and respond to the shifting global landscape.

The summit will continue its sessions on September 15, offering further opportunities for dialogue on the media’s role in fostering cooperation and ensuring accurate information dissemination in an increasingly interconnected world.
