New York, September 24, 2024 — The Europe Today: Tajikistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, met with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting focused on key bilateral and multilateral issues, with both sides expressing a commitment to enhancing political, economic, trade, investment, scientific, and educational cooperation.
The ministers also highlighted the critical importance of addressing global water and climate challenges. Both countries expressed their shared interest in advancing the UN Water Agenda, with particular emphasis on Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), which aims to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
To facilitate the implementation of joint initiatives, Muhriddin and Abdelatty discussed the possibility of organizing reciprocal visits between Tajikistan and Egypt, aimed at deepening collaboration in these priority areas. The meeting underscored the shared determination of both nations to strengthen their strategic partnership and cooperation on global issues.
