Karachi, October 08, 2024 – The Europe Today: Renowned Pakistani actor Mazhar Ali has passed away at the age of 66, confirmed his family on Tuesday. The veteran artist, who had a significant impact on the country’s entertainment industry, was a heart patient and had recently undergone treatment for cardiac issues.
Speaking to media, Mazhar’s sister, Ahla Imran, revealed that he had been admitted to the hospital three weeks prior due to complications with his cardiac health. “He had a fever last night and he passed away in his sleep,” she stated.
Mazhar is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son, who are currently residing in the United States. His sister noted that he had planned to return to the U.S. recently, but his deteriorating health prevented him from doing so. “Mazhar hadn’t been active in the acting industry for the last five to six years due to his health,” Ahla added.
His funeral prayer will be held today at Tayyaba Mosque in Nazimabad No. 3 after Maghrib prayers.
Mazhar Ali was an influential figure in Pakistan’s television landscape, known for his exceptional performances in numerous dramas, primarily aired on PTV. He made his mark with early roles in acclaimed serials such as Afshan, Uroosa, Haala, and Badlon Pe Basera. He also garnered attention for his appearances in Geo Entertainment’s Khuda Aur Mohabbat and various shows on private TV channels.
