Uzbekistan and Hungary Strengthen Strategic Partnership at Turkic States Summit in Bishkek

Bishkek, November 6, 2024 – The Europe Today:  On November 6, as part of the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Bishkek, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. The leaders discussed advancing the strategic partnership and strengthening the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive outcomes of their ongoing collaboration. They highlighted the growth in trade volume and the expansion of industrial partnerships, particularly with the upcoming establishment of an industrial park in Tashkent region. The recent First Forum of Regions, held in Kokand in October, was acknowledged as a key milestone in fostering regional cooperation. This month, further cultural engagements are planned in Budapest, reinforcing cultural ties between the two nations.

The leaders reviewed an agenda of upcoming bilateral events, emphasizing the importance of a robust new portfolio of projects aimed at enhancing trade, economic, and investment ties. These projects are expected to be led by prominent companies from both countries, contributing to economic growth and sectoral innovation.

President Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Orbán also exchanged views on pressing regional issues, underscoring their commitment to jointly address challenges in the region and further solidify their partnership.
