Jakarta, November 8, 2024 – The Europe Today: President Prabowo Subianto embarked on his first official state visit to multiple key international destinations, departing from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta at approximately 10:25 a.m. local time on Friday. His planned itinerary includes China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Peru, and Brazil, where he will engage in high-level diplomatic meetings and participate in crucial international summits.
President Prabowo’s visit reflects Indonesia’s commitment to fostering strong diplomatic ties with major global economies and underscores the strategic value of engaging in these partnerships. In China, he is set to meet with President Xi Jinping, while his U.S. visit includes a meeting with President Joe Biden. He is also scheduled to engage with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer before attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Peru and the G20 Summit in Brazil.
Prabowo emphasized the importance of responding to international invitations, citing their strategic value for Indonesia’s economic interests. “I cannot avoid these international invitations because they have strategic value and are related to our economic situation,” he noted during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Prabowo stressed that Indonesia must actively participate in global forums to address critical issues and explore economic opportunities.
