Baku, March 12, 2025 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Spain’s Secretary of State for Trade, María Amparo López Senovilla, to explore avenues for enhancing economic cooperation between the two nations.
During the discussions, both officials highlighted the significance of the Azerbaijan–Spain Business Forum and the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Economic Dialogue, held today, as key platforms for fostering collaboration among business communities. Minister Jabbarov reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to deepening economic ties with Spain, emphasizing the vital role of ongoing high-level engagements in achieving this objective.
A key outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Strategic Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy and Spain’s Ministry of Economy, Commerce, and Business. This agreement is expected to facilitate diversified collaboration, strengthen bilateral business relations, enhance investment flows, and promote the exchange of technology, knowledge, and expertise.
Both sides expressed confidence that the first Strategic Economic Dialogue would play a crucial role in supporting business entities and expanding economic engagement. The agreement paves the way for joint initiatives that will contribute to sustainable economic development and mutually beneficial partnerships between Azerbaijan and Spain.
