Uzbekistan–Iran Business Forum Opens in Tehran with $1 Billion in New Agreements

Tehran, May 12, 2025 — The Europe Today: The Uzbekistan–Iran Business Forum convened in Tehran yesterday, bringing together senior officials, business leaders, and entrepreneurs to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation. The event was marked by keynote addresses from the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Reza Aref.

In their remarks, both sides emphasized the steady progress in trade relations, highlighting that the volume of mutual trade has reached $500 million, while the number of joint ventures has surpassed 210. A comprehensive review of the current partnership landscape was conducted, with new areas of potential collaboration identified.

As a result of the forum, a package of projects and trade agreements valued at $1 billion was finalized, reflecting the two countries’ shared commitment to expanding economic ties across diverse sectors.

Prime Minister Aripov underscored the significant reforms underway in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at enhancing the business climate and offering greater incentives for foreign investors. These reforms include regulatory streamlining, infrastructure modernization, and expanded opportunities for public-private partnerships.

The forum witnessed the active participation of over 100 entrepreneurs and representatives from various Uzbek ministries and agencies, who presented key initiatives in industry, agriculture, logistics, energy, and technology. Numerous B2B meetings were held on the sidelines of the event, paving the way for practical cooperation and joint ventures.

The Uzbekistan–Iran Business Forum served as a dynamic platform for advancing regional economic integration and deepening strategic partnerships between the two nations.
