Baku, May 19, 2025 — The Europe Today: The enthronement ceremony of Pope Leo XIV was held on Sunday in St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City, drawing the attendance of global leaders, religious dignitaries, and prominent public figures from around the world.
Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the high-profile ceremony, representing her country at the significant event marking the formal inauguration of the new Pontiff.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Speaker Gafarova held a brief meeting with Pope Leo XIV.
