Vietnamese PM Chairs National Conference to Accelerate Housing Eradication, Key Transport Projects, and Investment Disbursement

Hanoi, June 22, 2025 – The Europe Today: Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Sunday chaired a national teleconference aimed at accelerating the eradication of substandard housing, speeding up the execution of nationally important transport projects, and boosting public investment disbursement.

The high-level “3-in-1” conference, linked with all 63 provinces and centrally-run cities, encompassed three significant meetings: the fifth session of the central steering committee for eliminating makeshift and dilapidated homes, the 18th meeting of the state steering committee for key transport projects, and the second national review on accelerating public investment disbursement for 2025.

The conference brought together leaders from ministries, sectors, central agencies, local authorities, major enterprises, and financial institutions.

In his opening remarks, PM Chính emphasized that the entire country is urgently pursuing apparatus restructuring, especially at provincial and communal levels, to ensure that the new administrative system becomes operational by July 1, 2025. He reiterated the Party and Government’s development goal of achieving at least 8% growth in 2025, laying the foundation for double-digit growth in the subsequent phase and advancing strategic goals for 2030 and 2045.

While acknowledging the positive results attained so far, the Prime Minister urged stronger efforts, higher determination, and effective coordination to reach and surpass national targets, particularly in the key areas of housing eradication, transport infrastructure, and investment disbursement.

“The Party has no other objective than firmly safeguarding national independence and sovereignty, and delivering peace and prosperity to the people,” PM Chính affirmed. He underscored the importance of aligning efforts with the Party’s directives, the Government’s leadership, the National Assembly’s backing, and public consensus.

He instructed officials to evaluate progress, identify challenges, and propose practical solutions to meet the Government’s objectives in these crucial areas.
