Azerbaijan Allocates Funds for Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine

Baku, August 11, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan will receive financial resources to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, following an order signed by President Ilham Aliyev.

The presidential order underscores Azerbaijan’s steadfast commitment to humanitarian principles, reflecting its ongoing support to numerous countries through both bilateral and multilateral aid efforts. In recent years, Azerbaijan has delivered multiple humanitarian aid packages to Ukraine in response to the continuing situation.

The strong friendship and partnership between Azerbaijan and Ukraine are founded on key bilateral agreements, including the 2000 Agreement on Friendship, Cooperation, and Partnership, the 2008 Declaration on Friendship and Strategic Partnership, and the 2022 Joint Declaration issued by the Presidents of both countries.

According to the order, an amount equivalent to 2 million US dollars in Azerbaijani manat will be allocated from the 2025 state budget’s Presidential Reserve Fund to the Ministry of Energy. These funds will be used to purchase and deliver electrical equipment produced in Azerbaijan as part of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

The Ministry of Finance is tasked with ensuring the allocation of funds, while the Cabinet of Ministers will oversee the implementation of all related matters.
