President Aliyev Extends Independence Day Greetings to Indonesia

Baku, August 18, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has extended his congratulations to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and the people of Indonesia on the occasion of the country’s National Holiday – Independence Day.

In his congratulatory message, President Aliyev expressed his “most sincere wishes” to President Subianto and conveyed warm greetings on behalf of the Azerbaijani people.

The Azerbaijani leader highlighted the positive momentum in bilateral ties, noting the “gratifying dynamics” of relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia both on a bilateral level and within multilateral platforms, including the Non-Aligned Movement, the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the D-8 group of developing nations.

President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s strong commitment to further strengthening relations with Indonesia, underscoring that ties are built on “solid foundations of mutual respect and trust.” He stressed the favorable conditions for expanding cooperation in areas such as politics, economy, culture, and tourism, and expressed confidence in broadening the bilateral agenda in the years ahead.

“I am confident that we will continue to successfully pursue our joint efforts to strengthen friendly relations between our countries, fully utilize the potential of our cooperation, and deepen our effective collaboration within international structures,” the message read.

Concluding his message, President Aliyev wished robust health, happiness, and success to President Subianto, along with lasting peace and prosperity to the people of Indonesia.
