Baku, August 27, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev revealed that he, together with an Armenian counterpart, nominated former U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, emphasizing that Trump “really deserves it.”
In an interview with Al Arabiya channel, President Aliyev praised Trump’s role in advancing peace across different regions. “As I said in my comments in Washington several months ago, he performed a miracle in Africa, in Asia, and in the South Caucasus. And this is his character. This is his nature. He wants peace,” Aliyev stated.
The Azerbaijani leader described Trump as “a person who is absolutely different from the traditional image of a Western leader,” underscoring what he views as the former U.S. president’s distinctive approach to diplomacy and conflict resolution.
