Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: At the invitation of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will pay an official visit to Malaysia from October 5 to 7, 2025, the Foreign Office announced on Friday.
He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, several Federal Ministers, and senior government officials.
The visit reflects the strong and enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and Malaysia, founded on mutual respect, shared interests, and close cooperation across multiple sectors.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Malaysian counterpart to discuss key regional and global developments. The two leaders will also deliberate on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade and investment and exploring new avenues in the fields of information technology, telecommunications, the Halal industry, education, energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy.
The leaders are further expected to witness the signing of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at expanding cooperation in several existing and emerging sectors.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit underscores Pakistan’s continued commitment to deepening its partnership with Malaysia and reaffirms the importance both nations attach to working together to advance peace, stability, trade, investment, and sustainable development in the region.
“The Pakistan side looks forward to mutually beneficial engagements in Malaysia, building upon the solid foundations of friendship and cooperation that exist between our two nations,” the statement added.
