Astana, October 21, 2025 — The Europe Today: On October 21, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a one-on-one meeting with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana. The meeting took place as part of President Aliyev’s official state visit to Kazakhstan, underscoring the deepening strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries.
Welcoming his Azerbaijani counterpart, President Tokayev stated that President Aliyev’s visit marked an important milestone in strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
“Dear Ilham Heydar oglu, it is a great honor and pleasure for me to welcome you on an official state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is a very important event in terms of further enhancing the strategic partnership and allied relations between our countries. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are not only friendly states but also brotherly nations. Under your strong leadership, Azerbaijan has bolstered its international standing and plays a key role as a regional power. For us, advancing economic and trade cooperation, along with political partnership, remains a top priority,” President Tokayev said.
In response, President Aliyev expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to expanding multifaceted cooperation with Kazakhstan.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank you for the invitation to visit fraternal Kazakhstan on a state visit and for your hospitality. We share the same feelings toward the brotherly people of Kazakhstan and rejoice in the country’s progress under your leadership. Kazakhstan demonstrates a high level of socio-economic development and political stability. We fully support your vision for modernization and national advancement,” President Aliyev noted.
Highlighting the strategic and allied nature of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations, President Aliyev emphasized that both sides are determined to strengthen collaboration in all areas.
“Today, as part of our negotiations and the session of the Supreme Interstate Council, we will once again review our broad agenda and outline concrete steps to further deepen our partnership,” he added.
The two leaders expressed mutual confidence that the outcomes of the visit would give a new impetus to the dynamic development of Azerbaijani-Kazakh relations, grounded in mutual respect, shared history, and common goals for regional stability and prosperity.
