Karachi, November 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: Türkiye on Thursday clinched the championship title at the 5th International Naval Competition held in Karachi, the Pakistan Navy said in an official statement.
Hosted by the Pakistan Navy in the southern port city, the competition featured events in sailing, swimming, lifesaving skills, and seamanship. Türkiye secured the top position with three gold medals, while Iran finished as runners-up.
Commander Karachi Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi attended the ceremony as the chief guest. He distributed prizes among the winning teams, congratulated the participants, and encouraged them to continue striving for higher standards of professional excellence.
Teams from Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Sri Lanka, Türkiye, and the United Arab Emirates, along with the host team from Pakistan, took part in the event.
The competition aims to promote water sports in Pakistan and strengthen friendly ties among participating navies through healthy and professional nautical contests.
The closing ceremony was attended by senior naval officials, foreign service attachés, and a number of civil dignitaries.
