Beribi, April 13, 2026 — The Europe Today: Boustead Sdn Bhd celebrated its 70th anniversary with a festive Hari Raya open house at its Nissan and Suzuki showrooms in Beribi on Sunday, bringing together customers, commercial clients, and key partners.
The event highlighted the company’s longstanding presence in Brunei’s automotive industry while reinforcing relationships with stakeholders amid a dynamic and evolving market environment.
Distinguished guests included representatives from financial institutions and insurance partners, as well as Lim Beng Thai, Chairman of Lim Tech Hoo Holdings. They were welcomed by Executive Manager Lim Jin Lee, alongside Boustead’s senior management and staff.
The celebration also served as a platform for the company to express appreciation to its customers and partners for their continued support, while showcasing its diverse portfolio of passenger and commercial vehicles.
Tracing its roots to Edward Boustead, who founded Boustead & Co. in 1828, the company established operations in Brunei in 1856 through trading activities before expanding into the automotive sector.
Boustead was appointed an authorised distributor for Nissan vehicles in the 1960s, followed by Suzuki in 1976. In 1993, the late Pehin Dato Seri Paduka Lim Tech Hoo acquired the company, leading to its rebranding as Boustead Sdn Bhd and relocation to the Beribi Industrial Complex.
Over the decades, the company has continued to grow, adding new partnerships and services, including its appointment as a dealer for Volvo and UD Trucks in 2015, the launch of Automagination Services in 2016, the opening of a Suzuki showroom in Gadong in 2018, its appointment as sole distributor of Ducati in 2022, and the inauguration of a new Nissan showroom in Madewa in 2025.
Today, Boustead represents a wide range of Japanese-engineered brands, including Nissan, Suzuki, UD Trucks, and TCM, known for their reliability and performance, further cementing its position as a key player in Brunei’s automotive sector.
