Islamabad, May 6, 2026 – The Europe Today: On May 5, 2026, H.E. Yusuf Sharifzoda, Ambassador of the Tajikistan to the Pakistan, held a meeting with Dr. Hifza Rasheed, Director General of the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources, to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the water sector.
During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities to enhance collaboration in water resource management, improvement of water quality, scientific research, and the exchange of expertise among specialists. They also underscored the importance of expanding institutional linkages and developing joint research initiatives to address shared challenges.
Ambassador Sharifzoda extended an invitation to Dr. Rasheed to participate in the upcoming Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action Water for Sustainable Development 2018–2028, scheduled to take place from May 25 to 28, 2026, in Dushanbe.
Both parties expressed confidence that the outcomes of the meeting would contribute to further strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan in the water sector, while supporting sustainable development and efficient management of natural resources.
