Azerbaijani President Congratulates Georgia on Independence Day

Baku, May 26, 2026 – The Europe Today: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili on the occasion of Georgia’s Independence Day.

In his message, President Aliyev extended sincere congratulations on behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan to President Kavelashvili and the Georgian people, emphasizing the longstanding friendship and close ties between the two neighboring nations.

The Azerbaijani president noted that the high level of bilateral friendship is rooted in centuries of mutual sympathy, respect, and trust between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Georgia.

He expressed satisfaction with the dynamic and comprehensive development of interstate relations and highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries.

President Aliyev also highly praised the outcomes of his recent state visit to Georgia, recalling the warm hospitality extended to him and describing his meeting with President Kavelashvili as productive and constructive.

He stressed that the active high-level political dialogue between the two countries creates favorable conditions for expanding cooperation across various sectors.

Reaffirming the strength of the Azerbaijan–Georgia strategic partnership, President Aliyev expressed confidence that bilateral relations would continue to deepen and broaden through joint efforts aimed at promoting the interests of both nations and ensuring regional prosperity and stability.

Concluding his message, the Azerbaijani leader wished President Kavelashvili good health, happiness, and success in his activities, while extending wishes of peace and prosperity to the people of Georgia.
