Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Ashgabat, June 16, 2026 – The Europe Today: Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan, Nurlan Nogayev, on June 16, 2026, to discuss the further development of bilateral cooperation and issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the current state of Turkmen-Kazakh relations and exchanged views on ways to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors. They underscored the importance of maintaining regular dialogue and close contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries as a key mechanism for advancing bilateral ties.

The discussions also covered regional and international developments, with the two sides exchanging perspectives on matters of common concern. In this context, they highlighted the significance of continued coordination and cooperation on multilateral platforms.

The minister and ambassador reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the longstanding tradition of mutual support for each other’s initiatives within the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations, emphasizing the role of constructive partnership in promoting regional stability and sustainable development.
