Dushanbe, August 12, 2026 — The Europe Today: President of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon on August 11 received officials nominated for senior positions within the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs for a meeting and discussion, according to the Khovar news agency.
By decisions of the Government of Tajikistan, Jamshed Mashrabzoda was appointed Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, while Abdusattor Azizzoda was appointed the authorized representative to the Bureau for Coordination of Combating Organized and Other Dangerous Types of Crime among the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
A number of other experienced and qualified officials were also appointed to senior positions within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
These appointments include the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ representative office in the Russian Federation, the ministry’s authorized representative at the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, as well as the head of the ministry’s department in the Rasht region and district.
Heads of several departments within the ministry’s central apparatus and heads of Interior Ministry departments in Hissor, Rasht and Sino district of Dushanbe, as well as Murghob and Ishkoshim in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, Bokhtar, Baljuvon and Shamsiddin Shohin in Khatlon Region, and Bobojon Ghafurov in Sughd Region, were also appointed.
During the meeting, President Rahmon called on the newly appointed officials to serve the state and people of Tajikistan with loyalty, integrity and dedication, while maintaining respectful and professional relations with citizens.
The President emphasized the importance of learning international languages and strengthening efforts to combat crime, particularly transnational organized crimes such as drug and arms trafficking.
He also stressed the need to ensure the rule of law and strengthen public security and stability through effective law enforcement.
President Rahmon underscored that, under all circumstances, the interests of the state and the people of Tajikistan must remain the highest priority for officials entrusted with positions of responsibility.
