Turkmenistan Authorizes Construction of National Pavilion for EXPO 2027 Belgrade

Ashgabat, August 18, 2026 — The Europe Today: The President of Turkmenistan has signed a resolution authorizing the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations to begin construction and installation of the country’s national pavilion for participation in the World Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, Turkmen state media reported.

Under the resolution, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations will oversee the construction and installation of Turkmenistan’s national pavilion, as well as other related activities required for the country’s participation in the specialized international exhibition.

EXPO 2027 Belgrade is scheduled to take place in Serbia from May 15 to August 15, 2027. It will be the first specialized EXPO to be hosted in the Western Balkans.

According to the exhibition’s official website, more than 130 countries are expected to participate, while visitor numbers are projected to exceed four million. The exhibition will cover an area of approximately 25 hectares.

The theme of EXPO 2027 Belgrade is “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All,” focusing on the role of sport and music in promoting human interaction, cooperation and shared values.

Over the 93-day exhibition, participating countries will showcase their national pavilions and present cultural, economic and technological achievements. The programme is also expected to feature cultural and sporting activities, concerts, business meetings, seminars and other international events.

Turkmenistan’s participation will provide an international platform to showcase the country’s national achievements, cultural heritage and development priorities while strengthening its engagement in international economic and cultural cooperation.
