Astana, August 30, 2026 – The Europe Today: Member of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Gunay Efendiyeva has met with Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva in Astana to discuss bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Efendiyeva shared her observations on the Qurultay elections in Kazakhstan, which she attended as part of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic States (TURKPA) election observation mission.
The officials highlighted the steady development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
They emphasised the importance of further expanding bilateral cooperation across political, economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres, as well as other areas of mutual interest.
The meeting also focused on Azerbaijan’s ongoing reconstruction and restoration efforts in the liberated territories of Garabagh. Efendiyeva and Balayeva discussed Kazakhstan’s support for these efforts and its contribution to the restoration process.
The sides also exchanged views on other matters of mutual concern and reaffirmed their interest in further strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
