Rabat, September 12, 2026 – The Europe Today: Morocco has reaffirmed its steadfast support for Yemen’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity and stability, stressing the importance of safeguarding the country’s security and supporting efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis.
Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita held a telephone conversation on Friday with Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, during which the two sides discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the wider regional situation.
Bourita reiterated Morocco’s solidarity with Yemen and emphasized the Kingdom’s support for measures aimed at protecting the country’s sovereignty and security and confronting threats to its stability.
The Moroccan position comes amid renewed escalation in Yemen, including advances by Houthi forces along the Red Sea coast and growing concerns over the security of the strategically important Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The developments have heightened regional security concerns and raised fears of further deterioration in Yemen’s humanitarian and political situation.
Morocco has consistently advocated a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis that preserves the country’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Kingdom has also expressed support for international and regional efforts seeking a lasting settlement and an end to the conflict.
The latest reaffirmation underscores Rabat’s continued commitment to Yemen’s stability and to diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting peace in the region.
