Hanoi, September 17, 2026 – The Europe Today: Vietnam’s agriculture sector is intensifying efforts to boost exports and achieve its target of US$74 billion in agricultural, forestry and fishery export revenue, Vietnam News reported.
The sector recorded export revenue of US$49.3 billion during the first eight months of the year, representing a 7 percent increase compared with the same period last year. This leaves approximately US$24.9 billion to be generated during the remaining months to reach the annual target.
Authorities and businesses are focusing on expanding overseas markets, improving product quality and strengthening the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products to sustain export growth.
The push comes as Vietnam seeks to capitalize on rising international demand while addressing challenges related to market requirements, quality standards and sustainable production.
The agriculture sector is also expected to strengthen coordination among producers, processors and exporters, with greater emphasis on value-added products and compliance with international standards.
The government and industry stakeholders are working to diversify export markets and products in order to reduce risks and create more stable opportunities for Vietnamese farmers and businesses.
With exports already approaching the two-thirds mark of the annual target, the sector is stepping up efforts in the final months of the year to secure additional contracts and maintain momentum toward the US$74 billion goal.
