Dushanbe, September 29, 2026 — The Europe Today: Prime Minister of Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda received Cosmas Zavazava, Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), on September 28.
During the meeting, the sides highlighted Tajikistan’s 32-year membership in the ITU and emphasized the importance the country attaches to developing cooperation with the organization in the field of digitalisation.
Rasulzoda noted the adoption by the United Nations of Tajikistan’s latest initiative, titled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Creating New Opportunities for Sustainable Development in Central Asia.” He stressed that the rapid development of artificial intelligence is creating new opportunities for countries and opening additional avenues for sustainable development.
For his part, Cosmas Zavazava welcomed Tajikistan’s contribution to shaping the international agenda on artificial intelligence and praised the country’s active position in promoting equal access for countries to the opportunities provided by AI.
The sides also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.
