Moscow, June 23, 2024, The Europe Today: The Plenipotentiary Representative of Turkmenistan in the Commission on Economic Affairs under the CIS Economic Council, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, Esen Aydogdyev, participated in the regular meeting of the CIS Economic Council held in Moscow.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the CIS Economic Council, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Alexey Overchuk.
According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan’s website, the participants reviewed information on the main target macroeconomic indicators for the development of the CIS member states’ economies for 2023. These indicators provide an objective assessment of the countries’ economic conditions, the dynamics of their development, and serve as guidelines for government decision-making in the political, economic, and social spheres. It was noted that in 2023, the CIS member states generally adhered to the recommended values characterizing macroeconomic stability.
Additionally, the meeting addressed issues concerning the epizootic situation in CIS member countries from 2018 to 2023. An Action Plan for the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Automotive Industry was approved. Furthermore, a decision was made to amend the Concept of the formation and development of an interstate system for training, professional retraining, and advanced training of personnel in the field of scientific and technical information. Several other issues were also discussed.
The next meeting of the Economic Council is scheduled for September 20, 2024.
