Beijing, July 05, 2024, The Europe Today: China’s 5G network now extends to every city and town in the country, as well as over 90 percent of its villages, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Friday.
The nation has established a leading global information and communication network, boasting 3.84 million 5G base stations, which represent more than 60 percent of the global total, the ministry reported.
Since the issuance of the first batch of 5G licenses for commercial use five years ago, 5G technology has been integrated into numerous sectors including industry, power, mining, healthcare, and education, with extensive promotion and application.
Furthermore, China has constructed 300 5G factories and initiated over 13,000 projects for the application of “5G plus industrial internet.”
The ministry announced that China will continue to advance its 5G development, aiming to expand network coverage to cultural and tourism sites, healthcare facilities, universities, transportation hubs, and subway systems.
