Ashgabat, August 28, 2024, The Europe Today: Six young Turkmen wrestlers will represent Turkmenistan at the World Freestyle Wrestling Championships, set to take place in Pontevedra, Spain, starting September 2.
The Turkmenistan team will compete across six weight categories.The national team features the following athletes: Kabe Matjanov (up to 57 kg), Amir Hamayun (up to 61 kg), Kakamurat Ashirov (up to 74 kg), Alp Arslan Begenjov (up to 79 kg), Dovletgeldy Muradov (up to 86 kg), and Soltan Sanjar Begenjov (up to 92 kg).The championships will also include Greco-Roman and women’s wrestling events, with a total of 30 sets of awards up for grabs.
The freestyle wrestling finals are scheduled to take place from September 6 to 8. The Turkmenistan team will be aiming to make a strong impact and achieve notable results in this prestigious competition.
