Turkmenistan’s Ambassador Participates in Trade and Economic Cooperation Event in Pakistan

Gujranwala, February 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Atajan Movlamov, along with ambassadors from Central Asian nations and Azerbaijan, participated in a trade and economic cooperation event in Gujranwala on February 10. The event, hosted by the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and the Gujranwala Business Center, aimed to strengthen regional partnerships and explore investment opportunities.

During discussions with the GCCI, participants explored avenues to expand trade, enhance collaboration between small and medium-sized enterprises, and strengthen ties between chambers of commerce across the region. Ambassador Movlamov emphasized the role of trade exhibitions and business forums in attracting investment and showcasing the region’s production and export potential, according to a statement by the Embassy of Turkmenistan to Pakistan.

The delegation was also briefed on major infrastructure projects initiated by Turkmenistan, highlighting their contribution to regional peace and sustainable economic development. In addition, discussions touched on the United Nations General Assembly’s resolution proclaiming “2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust,” an initiative led by Turkmenistan that underscores the importance of peaceful conflict resolution and international cooperation.

Speaking to local media, Ambassador Movlamov stressed the potential for expanding trade and economic collaboration between Turkmenistan and Pakistan, particularly in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing.

Following the meeting, the ambassadors attended the opening of the Trade Facilitation Desk at the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aimed at simplifying business operations and fostering international trade. They also visited the Made in Gujranwala exhibition, where they explored a wide range of locally manufactured products, highlighting the city’s industrial capabilities.

The event marked a significant step in enhancing trade relations and economic cooperation between Central Asia, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan, reinforcing a shared commitment to regional economic integration and sustainable development.
