Islamabad Hosts Seminar on Khojaly Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing

Islamabad, February 28, 2025 – The Europe Today: A seminar titled “Khojaly Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing: A Crime against Humanity” was held at the National Library in Islamabad on Thursday. The event was organized by the MUSLIM Institute in collaboration with the Embassy of Azerbaijan to commemorate the victims of the Khojaly tragedy and emphasize the need for justice and global solidarity.

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, and Turkish Ambassador, Irfan Nezir oglu, were among the distinguished speakers who reflected on the historical tragedy and its enduring impact. The speakers underscored that remembering the martyrs of Khojaly is not merely an act of commemoration but a reaffirmation of the commitment to justice and accountability.

Speakers at the seminar called for strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, particularly in the fields of defense, education, trade, and cultural exchange. They also stressed the importance of continued engagement at regional and international levels to foster peace, stability, and prosperity for both nations.

The seminar concluded with a strong call to action for the international community to recognize and address crimes against humanity, ensuring that justice prevails for the victims of the Khojaly genocide.
