Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto Announces 30 Strategic Investment Projects for 2025

Jakarta, March 18, 2025 – The Europe Today: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has announced that his government plans to launch 30 strategic investment projects across various sectors this year. The initiative aims to bolster economic growth, attract capital investment, and create millions of job opportunities.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of PT Freeport Indonesia’s metal smelter in Gresik District, East Java, on Monday, President Subianto revealed that his administration, under the Red and White Cabinet, has made a decisive commitment to these large-scale projects.

“I have recently convened with my team from the Red and White Cabinet, and we have decided to launch approximately 30 grand projects this year,” Subianto stated in his address.

The president highlighted that these megaprojects are expected to generate up to eight million new jobs, significantly benefiting Indonesia’s workforce and economy. He emphasized that these investments would not be limited to the downstream sector but would also include strategic upstream industries.

“The 30 megaprojects will not focus only on the downstream, as we will also invest in strategic fields in the upstream sector,” he remarked.

Prabowo also underscored the importance of the agriculture and fisheries sectors, acknowledging their crucial role in contributing to Indonesia’s foreign exchange and job creation. He asserted that the government’s focus on these industries would enhance economic sustainability.

“We are very optimistic and very grateful for the resources we possess. It is our responsibility to properly manage these resources by adopting good governance and ensuring transparency and accountability,” he stated.

President Prabowo concluded by affirming that the initiative would strengthen Indonesia’s economy and pave the way for a more prosperous and self-reliant nation.

“This initiative will become a new source of power and energy for Indonesia’s future,” he remarked.
